Anyone who knows me, knows that I love minimalistic style regardless of what I shoot! That’s why it was an amazing experience to be part of Alexandra and John’s emotional low key wedding ceremony in Stamford.
Both of them tied the knot abroad several weeks before the official ceremony in the UK, and as such the wedding was slightly different to what I am normally used to. I love the challenge, though!
I thoroughly enjoyed the emotions because the family and friends who were invited, were clearly dear to the couple and they all shared tears and laughter throughout the day!
We began our day with a brunch with the closest ones at Cosy Club – a modern and eclectic restaurant and pub mix. The decor and the food were wonderful, it’s definitely a place I wouldn’t mind coming back to myself one day!
After that we made our way down to Stamford Registry Office where Alexandra and John exchanged their hand written vows in a intimate ceremony. Then, we walked through the heart of Stamford with all our wedding party.
This made for a nice set of relaxed imagery as the couple walked through the city, and with documentary / reportage style being my signature photography style I felt in my element! The architecture and the cobbled streets emphasised the simplicity, with a focus on the most significant thing – two people in love.
The reception was held at Wine Bar – our couple had hired the garden for the guests and themselves, and the wonderful weather was ideal for an outdoor celebration. The speeches brought tears to some, but it was very evident it’s the love that we’re celebrating not the wedding paraphernalia, it’s not about being flashy, it’s all about being in love.
